blog-atv-in-cancun-what-you-need-to-know.
Who can join the ATV Cancun tour?
All family can participate in this activity; however, it is not recommended for people with reduced mobility, heart disease, back issues or pregnant women.
Some operators allow children aged 6+ to do this activity, some others required they are 12 years old. However, there are some exceptions that allow younger children to participate. If this is case, parents have to sign a Risk Acknowledgement Form and follow the instructions given by the ATV guides since it’s their responsibility to include the children in the tour or not. Please, ask any question you have about age restrictions before booking the tour.
ATV tour restrictions
For safety compliance most of the service providers DO NOT ALLOW the use of cameras and/or cellphones during the tour.

Age restrictions vary by location. In general, an 18+ age minimum is required but as it was mentioned before there are some exceptions as long as the parents allow children to join the tour and sign all the required forms. For teenagers riding, it is important to be sure that they can easily control the ATV and follow the instructions of the guides strictly. It is parent’s responsibility to allow the teenager to ride an ATV. Do not hesitate to ask any question you have about age restrictions before booking the ATV tour
Where do the ATV Cancun tour take place?
Even though Cancun is part of the name of the tour, it doesn’t take place there. This is because in Cancun city there are no parks with enough space or long dirt roads for ATVs. Instead, in Puerto Morelos, which is nearby, there is a tourist corridor known as Ruta de los Cenotes, there you can find many eco-parks that offer packages including cenotes, ziplines and horse riding.
Most of the ATV tours offer transportation from Cancun and we strongly recommend to include it in your package. However, you can also arrive in the park by yourself in a rental car, by taxi or Uber (which could be quite expensive) or public transportation which is cheaper but not very convenient since they don’t take you to the park entrance and you may have to walk up to 4 km in some cases.
